I was asked by the University of Washington Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences to edit a video to celebrate their 2020 graduates, in lieu of an in-person graduation ceremony during the pandemic.
This is the English version of a series of public service announcements about COVID-19 I edited in early March 2020 for the University of Washington’s School of Public Health. They wanted to get vetted information out quickly to local communities for whom English is not their native language. Interviews were shot (not by me) with translators from those communities and have been viewed widely on social media both locally and abroad.

A mini-doc about the Smithsonian Folkways Certificate Course in World Music Pedagogy. This is a summertime, week-long intensive course offered every year at a number of universities across the U.S. for educators to learn ways to incorporate world music into their classrooms and curriculums. This is a sample of the classes at the University of Washington in the summer of 2017.
In 2005 I participated in the annual 'Dream Parade and Pageant' in Taipei, Taiwan's largest city. This is a community arts and puppet festival at the Dream Community in the Shijr neighborhood that brings together artists and puppeteers from around the world to work with the local schools and community. I was asked to produce a video about that year’s parade and pageant. It was broadcast on TV in Taiwan and published in a DVD/booklet. This is a five min. cut-down of the hour-long final video.
In July of 2016 I was commissioned to produce a video retrospective for the Klingman Open Cancer Charity Golf Tournament. Kent Klingman, founder and director of the organization, was a cancer survivor himself and early success story for stem-cell treatments at Fred Hutch Cancer Center. This video tells his story as well as others whose lives have been impacted by the tournament.
I was hired to shoot and edit videos of two performances of DASS Dance Company’s Seattle City Nutcracker at the Broadway Performance Hall, in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. It is an “unabashedly contemporary production” showcasing many forms of dance such as jazz, ballet, modern and acrobatics as well as tap and high flying aerial.

In 2011 I shot and edited a video of Kasumai, an annual African music and dance event at the Kirkland Performing Arts Center in Washington. Produced by Seneglese drummer Thione Diop, it features artists and groups from all over Africa. This is a shorter edit of highlights from the show.
In 2011, world-renowned Kora player from Gambia, Foday Musa Suso, who now resides in Seattle, asked me to help him get some new songs he was working on up on Youtube. He asked that it be a very simple setup, shot in his apartment but with good audio. Here is an excerpt of one of the songs.

From 2008-2009 I worked as a 'Video Chronicler' on eco-tourist, ship-based trips for National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. This is the beginning of a video documenting an expedition in SE Alaska in May, 2008. I also documented multiple expeditions to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador as well as Baja, Mexico.

In 2006, while living in Bangkok, Thailand, I was commissioned to direct a series of short documentaries highlighting the efforts of a prominent Thai company to foster and encourage sustainable development projects in rural communities.
This is a short doc about the destruction caused in southern Thailand by the tsunami of 2005 and reconstruction efforts underway for some of the worst-hit communities.
